This forty page booklet is not a speed read for hasty saints, nor a “how-to manual” for fixing problems in life. Rather it is a handbook for believers to read and reread and treasure the whole of their lives. It shows us what God says is true because of His covenant of grace with His people.
It is taken from the Soli Deo Gloria book Heaven Opened, by Richard Alleine. The Precious Promises of the Gospel was one of two chapters penned by Richard’s brother, Joseph Alleine (1634-1668) who was an English Puritan nonconformist pastor and author of many religious works who was imprisoned several times for non-conformity.
Written in the First Person, (i.e. God, “the Great King”) these pages contain God’s promises to His people.
